Lawfare Project Senior Counsel featured in The New York Times
Dear friends,
As you know, The Lawfare Project has been zealously fighting to keep terrorists out of classrooms. As part of our efforts, we got notorious terrorist and two-time plane hijacker, Leila Khaled, de-platformed from Zoom, Facebook, and YouTube where she was meant to participate in a webinar in her honor. Had the webinar been allowed to proceed, she would have used her platform to spread Jew-hatred and promote the ideals of the U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization of which she is a leading member — the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
Some have criticized this move, saying that de-platforming a terrorist infringes on his or her free speech. Fortunately, we know better. Gerard Filitti, Senior Counsel at The Lawfare Project, wrote a letter featured in The New York Times explaining how the law — and common decency — are on our side. The letter reads:
Providing material support to terrorist organizations is a violation of U.S. federal law, period. We are proud of our successful efforts to de-platform Khaled and we will do it again to any terrorist trying to gain a foothold in our schools.
Your continued support is vital to our fight to purge the American education system of Jew-hatred, wherever we see it. Thank you for your dedication and look out for more updates about how we fight hate on campus.
Sincerely,
Brooke Goldstein
