Dear friends,

I am pleased to announce The Lawfare Project's involvement in an extraordinary event meant to build international cooperation through public diplomacy, camaraderie, and good old-fashioned sportsmanship. And YOU are invited!

For the first time, chess players from the nations of Israel and Bhutan will come together for a virtual chess tournament meant to strengthen ties between the two peoples. The event will be sponsored by The Lawfare Project, Chess4All, and the Embassy of Israel in India, and will feature approximately 200 players from both nations who will compete for prizes on a virtual chess platform. It will also feature personal greetings from Avi Issacharoff, the producer of Fauda, famed Israeli actor Aki Avni, and others.

Thursday January 21, 2021

8:00 AM EST / 15:00 IST / 19:00 BTT

This is more than sport. This is about the power of connecting people across different national, cultural, and ethnic lines. This is a chance to strengthen relations between the Jewish and Bhutanese people. Note that Bhutan is a diplomatically and geographically isolated nation which maintains relations with just 54 other countries.

We may not be able to gather in person during a global pandemic, but we can bring people together online to break down the walls that divide us and hopefully inspire unity at a time when the world needs it the most.

Do not miss out on your chance to witness history. Please MARK YOUR CALENDARS and SIGN UP to watch this transformative event.

Sincerely,

Brooke Goldstein
Executive Director, The Lawfare Project
