Defense of Canadian counter-terrorism expert David Harris
David Harris, a Canadian counter-terrorism expert who was formerly with the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), was sued by a professor—the former president of the Islamic Society of North America and a vocal proponent of extremist positions and entities—after Harris referred to the professor as a "radical" during a radio interview.
After more than one year of litigation supported by The Lawfare Project, the professor made a stunning reversal and agreed to have her own suit dismissed, despite her claim of grave reputational damage. Harris was not required to pay damages or costs, nor to issue an apology.
