Investigating possible disparity of treatment by law enforcement in LA Jewish neighborhood
The City of Los Angeles has seen blatant anti-Semitism fuel the destruction of countless Jewish properties. Most recently, in May 2020, rioters spray painted a local synagogue with the words "F**k Israel" during a day of rage and aggression.
On June 10, 2020, The Lawfare Project filed requests, pursuant to the California Public Records Act (“CPRA”), with the Los Angeles Police Department (“LAPD”) and the Office of Mayor Eric Garcetti to assess the City’s response (or failure to respond) to looting, desecration, and other violent acts perpetrated against the Jewish community during rioting associated with the death of George Floyd.
