Terms like “illegal occupation,” “disproportionate force,” “land seizure,” “indiscriminate killing,” and many others are bandied about by pundits, academics, and political leaders with ever-growing frequency and conviction. Moreover, while members of the legal community are circumspect in their use of language, consensus of legal scholars is often ignored by policymakers and activists alike. Join us for a discussion of the effect such misrepresentation of the law by many media outlets has on both decision-makers and the public at large.
